What is Grade 1045?
Grade 1045 is a medium carbon steel used for mechanical parts. This 1045 tube gets its additional strength from quenching and tempering. It still has good machinability when annealed. Because the carbon stays between 0.43-0.50%, the metal gets much harder during heat treatment. This makes it a great choice for parts that need to resist wear and stay strong.
